Valentine’s Day Competition 2020 – Terms and Conditions

  • The title of the competition is ‘Valentine’s Day competition’ (“the competition”).
  • By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
  • By entering the competition, entrants provide consent for the promoter to announce their name and use the picture provided (for publicity purposes) via its own social media channels. The winner agrees to the use of their name and image in the promoter’s publicity material.
  • In order for you to have a chance of winning the competition you must complete either of the steps detailed below:
  • Liking, commenting and sharing Orbit’s ‘Valentine’s Day competition post on Facebook.
  • Sharing the Orbit Instagram post on to your story, ensuring you have liked and tagged a friend on the original post.
  • The competitions will commence on 3rd February 2020 and will end 23:59 (GMT) on 13th February 2020 (“Closing Date”).
  • All entries received after the closing date will be automatically disqualified from the competition.
  • No purchase necessary and there is no charge for entry into the competition.

  • The promoter is Orbit Homes, whose registered office is Orbit, Garden Court, Harry Weston Road, Binley Business Park, Binley, Coventry, CV3 2SU (“the promoter”).

  • The competition is open to all residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over with the exception of:
  • Employees of the promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;
  • Employees of agents or suppliers of the promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
  • Members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
  • In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize that you may win. The promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

  • The prizes include one £50 love to shop voucher, a hamper (to value of £50) and a £50 ticket master voucher.
  • The Prize will be awarded to one eligible participant.
  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond the promoter’s control, the promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
  • There are no cash or other prize alternatives available at the winner’s request.

  • An eligible participant will be automatically entered into the competition if they follow the instructions outlined in section 3 (“Entry”).
  • Any entry that does not contain all of the information required above will be an invalid entry and will not be entered into the competition.
  • The promoter reserves the right and has complete discretion to delete and / or disqualify any entry deemed unsuitable, inappropriate, explicit or offensive.
  • Only one entry can be made per eligible participant; additional entries made by the same eligible participant will not be accepted: only the first entry will be eligible of participating.
  • The promoter will not accept competition entries that are automatically generated by a computer.
  • All valid Entries will be entered into the competition for a chance to win the prize.

  • All entries will be placed into a random draw and the winner will then be selected.
  • The decision of the promoter is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  • The winner will be announced on the promoter’s Facebook after the competition end date 14th February 2020.
  • The promoter will contact the winner personally via social media as soon as practicable after the Announcement.

  • The winner will be notified via social media and asked to supply their postal address for the prize to be delivered to.
  • The winner will have 48 hours from the announcement to claim the prize by supplying their postal address.
  • The promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has failed to supply their email address or phone number within 48 hours of the announcement, the promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible participant selected from the correct entries that were received before the closing date.
  • The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
  • The promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

  • Insofar as permitted by law, the promoter, it agents or distributes will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize, except where this is caused by the negligence of the promoter, its agents or distributers or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  • At all times throughout the competition, participants must deal with the promoter in the utmost good faith in every respect. The promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all participants and disqualify any participant that it has reasonable grounds to believe has breached any of the rules, including, but not limited to, falsifying any information submitted to or requested by the promoter.
  • The promoter reserves the right to amend or terminate the Competition at any time without notice. However, the promoter will use its reasonable endeavours to minimise the effect of such amendment or termination to avoid disappointment. Any termination of or amendment to the Competition will be notified via the Promoter’s social media channels.
  • The Competition will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Competition.

  • Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrant will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. The winner’s personal information will not be disclosed to any other third party by the promoter without the Entrant’s prior consent.
  • The promoter will only process your personal information in accordance with as set out in the privacy policy.
  • This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.

  • All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the promoter will become the property of the promoter on receipt and will not be returned.
  • By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:
    • (a) assign to the promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and
    • (b) waive all moral rights, in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

You agree that the promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website and any other media, including social media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry for such purposes.
